†   O Glorious Saint Clare! God has given you the power of working miracles continually, and the favor of answering the prayers of those who invoke your assistance in misfortune, anxiety, and distress. We beseech you, obtain from Jesus through Mary His Blessed Mother, what we beg of you so fervently and hopefully, (mention your petition) if it be for the greater honor and glory of God and for the good of our souls. Amen.

†   Dear Saint Clare, inspired by Saint Francis, you became a poor nun for the sake of Jesus, and established the “Poor Clares.” We are told how greatly you cherished Christ present in the Sacrament of the Altar. Amen.

†   O wondrous blessed clarity of Clare! In life she shone to a few; after death she shines on the whole world! On earth she was a clear light; Now in heaven she is a brilliant sun. O how great the vehemence of the brilliance of this clarity! On earth this light was indeed kept within cloistered walls, yet shed abroad its shining rays; It was confined within a convent cell, yet spread itself through the wide world. Amen

†   Dear Saint Clare, as a young girl you imitated your mother’s love for the poor of your native Assisi. Inspired by the preaching of St. Francis, who sang enthusiastically of His Lord Jesus and Lady Poverty, you gave your life to Jesus at nineteen years of age, allowing Saint Francis to cut off your beautiful hair and invest you with the Franciscan habit. All through your life you offered your great suffering for your Sisters, the Poor Clares, and the conversion of souls. You greatly aided Saint Francis with his new order, carrying on his spirit in the Franciscans after his death. Most of all you had a deep love of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament, which fueled your vocation to love and care for the poor. Please pray for me (mention your request) that I will seek to keep Jesus as my first love, as you did. Help me to grow in love of the Blessed Sacrament, to care for the poor, and to offer my whole life to God. Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Saint Clare. Through her intercession, please hear and answer my prayer, in the name of Jesus Your Son. Amen.

Blessing of Saint Clare

May Almighty God Bless you May He look upon you with the eyes of His Mercy and give you His peace. Here below may He pour forth His graces on you abundantly and in heaven may He place you among His saints. -Saint Clare of Assisi.

Memorare to our Mother Saint Clare

Remember, O glorious Mother Saint Clare, the promise Jesus made to you, when prostrate before the holy tabernacle, you implored him on behalf of your distressed children. Full of confidence in your power over the Divine Heart, we implore your maternal protection. It was your glory to confound the enemies of the Church by presenting the Holy Eucharist to their gaze. Obtain for us, O Mother of the humble and poor, the grace of ever being faithful to our holy Rule. May we, imitating you, love the humble, penitent, hidden life of holy poverty. Reject not, O Holy Mother, the prayers of your children. Protect them by continual assistance, and bestow on them one and all, your maternal benediction. Amen.

Memorare to the Sacred Heart

Remember, O most dear Jesus, that no one who has ever reached out to your Sacred Heart to implore your help or seek your mercy was left unanswered. Inflamed with this same confidence, we hasten to your loving Heart and cast ourselves down before you, heavy with the weight of our sins. Do not look away from our poor and humble prayers, O Heart of Jesus, but hear and grant our requests. Amen.

Memorare to the Blessed Virgin Mary

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I cry unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, do not look away from my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Receive, O Lord

Receive, O Lord, my entire liberty. Take my memory, intellect, and entire will. Whatever I have or possess, You have given me.

I return all these things totally to you. I surrender myself completely to be governed by Your will. Your love alone, with Your grace give to me, and I am rich enough. I plead for nothing else whatever.

Suscipe, Domine

Suscipe, Domine, universam libertatem meam. Accipe memoriam, intellectum et voluntatem meam omnem. Quidquid habeo vel possideo.

Tu mihi largitus es. Id tibi totum restituo. Ac tuae prorsus voluntati trado gubernandum. Amorem tui solum, cum gratia tua mihi dones, et dives sum satis. Nec quidquam aliud posco.

Sub Tuum Praesidium

We fly to your patronage, O holy Mother of God; do not look away from our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us from all dangers, O ever glorious and Blessed Virgin.

Memorare to Saint Joseph

Remember, O most pure spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, my sweet protector Saint Joseph, that no one ever had recourse to your protection or implored your aid without obtaining relief. Confiding therefore in your goodness I come before you and humbly supplicate you. O do not look away my petitions, foster father of the Redeemer, but graciously and pray for me to your adopted Son, Our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
